CUTEST SEA ANIMALS

 

Hi everyone! I am back with an interesting topic that most of you would appreciate. I hope the last post made you eager for the next posts and eagerness in the vast topic of science. Today I am going to enrich you about ten cutest sea animals that comes under oceanography.



1. Dumbo octopus

You might have heard about a cartoon character named Dumbo, the elephant. But actually, there is an octopus named Dumbo. Its scientific name is Grimpoteuthis. At least 15 species of Dumbo octopus fall under the genus of deep-sea umbrella octopus.

                              


2. Puffer fish

There are many kinds of puffer fish. But porcupine puffer fish is a special one. When it is deflated, it’s big eyes and the smiley face cannot make any diver to leave from there without a smile. They might be harmless to see, but some are really dangerous. Some of its kind come under the most poisonous vertebrates on Earth, with internal organs containing poisonous substances. It inflates itself to protect them from predators. You might think why, it is because the fish can have sharp spikes on them and when they inflate it would prick whoever comes near it like a porcupine.

                                         


3. Costasiella Kuroshimae Nudibranch

When you see the name, it looks long and weird but when you see it, it will be so cute. Actually, it is a tiny animal that is impossible to spot. But its face and body resemble a woolly cartoon sheep, therefore it is also called as “Shaun the sheep”.

                 


4. Beluga Whale

It has a sweet, round face that make them look like they are smiling at us. It is a sociable animal and it lives in pods and communicate with each other. They are usually found in the freezing cold water of Arctic and the Subarctic.

                           


5. Green Sea Turtle

This green sea turtle is considered as the most adorable ocean creature. It can live up to 80-100 if it is a healthy one.

                      


      

6. Axolotl

The name looks weird but I promise you that you would have never seen it because it is extinct. It is due to the lake drainage in Mexico. Yes, it was found in Mexico lakes.  Its gills that is visible out gives them the beauty to their eyes which looks like a doll’s eyes.

              


7. Bigeye Thresher Shark

Most of you think shark is not cute, but this one is so cute with big round eyes as you can see in the name itself. They live in warm tropical sea and can only be seen in some areas. Its small, frowning mouth look like they are always regretful to what they done.

                          


8.Bottlenose Dolphin

This dolphin is not only adorable, but it very intelligent like our ancestors not us. Hahaha!! Just kidding! Ok let’s go back. It is also called as puppies sea. Their smiling faces, cheeky curiosity and playful personalities are very attractive. It lives about 50 years in wild and lives in warm water around this planet. These carnivorous mammals can reach speeds of 18mph.

                         


     

9. Boxfish

It is so difficult to photograph them and they are remarkable cute. This cur fish is shaped like a bright yellow box, covered with black polka dots. Their colour and dots change with maturity, their sweet eyes remain the same. These cute fishes are found in tropical reefs, starting in only three feet (1m) of water.

                               


10. Pigmy seahorse

You would have never seen this cute little thing that is pink-fingernail-sized pygmy seahorse. Think of it. It is only of fingernail’s size. It is of many colours but mostly found yellow or pink. They are so well camouflaged and impossible to spot and also difficult to photograph it.

  4. This post was nice but it will be nice when you add the topic relevant to science that you mentioned in your last post like marine biology so that we could understand where it can be classified in science. (that's a small suggestion)
